African Institute of Mathematical Sciences: Fully Funded Masters Degrees

AIMS-South Africa, AIMS-Ghana and AIMS-Senegal 
AIMS offers an intensive one-year postgraduate course leading to a Master's in Mathematical Sciences. The programme is taught in association with the faculty of the Universities of Cambridge, Oxford and Paris Sud XI.


Admission 
The course is open to students of African nationality. Applicants should hold, or anticipate completing by the start date of the AIMS course, a 4-year university degree in mathematics, or any science or engineering subject with a significant mathematics component. An applicant's record should demonstrate strong aptitude in mathematics

Selection
One of the goals of AIMS is to recruit a student body representative of Africa's diversity. Each applicant's dossier will be evaluated in the light of the prior educational opportunities available to her or him. The application process is highly competitive and potential applicants must be able to demonstrate both a high degree of motivation, and the preparation and ability required to complete the course successfully.

Financial assistance
There will be no course fee for African students. Applicants who are selected may apply for bursaries covering tuition and accommodation costs.

2013/2014 application
Application period is expected to be open by January 2013.

Full Tuition Scholarships for Africans at Tufts University 2013-2014

The Harambe Fletcher Scholarship is a full-tuition award for young African entrepreneurial leaders wishing to pursue a master’s program at The Fletcher School at Tufts University, starting in September 2013. 

The scholarship recipient will be announced at the Harambe Bretton Woods Symposium VI, April 5–8, 2013.

Scholarship Benefits

· Full-tuition to attend a master program at The Fletcher School at Tufts University starting in September 2013

Please note that the scholarship is limited to tuition fees. The recipient is responsible for all living expenses.

Eligible Programs

· Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy (MALD): A two-year, highly flexible, interdisciplinary, professional degree in international affairs

· Master of International Business (MIB): A two-year hybrid international business/international affairs degree program

Eligible Candidates

· Born in Africa and current passport holders of an African country

· Exhibited entrepreneurial leadership in their field of interest

· Two or more years of work experience

· Hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent

How to Apply

It is important to note that you have two sets of applications to submit to two different organizations – one is Tufts University Admission Office and the other is Harambe Entrepreneur Alliance (scholarship sponsor). Please carefully follow the instructions below.

· Candidates must arrange to have official university transcripts, letters of recommendation and standardized test scores (GRE and TOEFL, if applicable) arrive at The Fletcher School by the appropriate application deadline

· Candidates must apply and be admitted to both Harambe and The Fletcher School

· Candidates must complete online HEA Application by December 30, 2012 through www.healliance.org and indicate that they wish to be considered for the Fletcher scholarship

· Candidates must complete online Fletcher School Application by January 10, 2013

· Scholarship recipient will receive notification by March 20, 2013

Cambridge Scholarships for International Students 2013-2014

The Gates Cambridge Scholarships is are prestigious international full-cost scholarships awarded to outstanding applicants from outside the UK to pursue a full-time graduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge.

Eligibility

Citizens of any country outside the United Kingdom
May apply to pursue one of the following full-time residential courses of study:
PhD (three year research-only degree)
One year postgraduate course (e.g. MPhil, LLM, MASt, Diploma, MBA etc.)
MSc or MLitt (two year research-only degree)
May apply to study any subject available at the University of Cambridge
Must be admitted to one of the degrees above at Cambridge through the University’s normal admission procedures

A Gates Cambridge Scholarship covers the full cost of studying at Cambridge.

How to Apply

All applicants apply simultaneously for admission as a graduate student to the University of Cambridge and a Gates Cambridge Scholarship using the one application pack.
