Georgetown University Full- tuition scholarship - Master in Foreign Service

Starting in fall 2014, the Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) at Georgetown University is offering a full- tuition scholarship for a talented graduate student from sub-Saharan Africa.

MSFS is a two-year, full-time graduate degree program in international affairs. Students will take courses in international relations, international trade, international finance, statistics and analytical tools and history. In addition, students choose an area of concentration such as International Relations and Security, International Development or International Business.

Applicants must have:
  • A completed undergraduate degree from an accredited university with a strong academic record.
  • Applicants should have professional experience, ideally in a field related to their future professional goals.
  • Students have an average of four years of work experience before joining MSFS.
  • Special consideration will be given to applicants from: Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa.

The application deadline for fall 2014 is January 15, 2014.

Turkey Africa Undergraduate Scholarship Program - 2013

Study Subject(s): All undergraduate programs other than Medical Sciences, Islamic Studies and Turkish Language and Literature are offered in this scholarship program.


Course Level: These scholarships are for pursuing undergraduate degree level at Turkish universities.

What does it cover?
-Allowance: for undergraduate students 282,50 USD per month.
-Accommodation: Turkey Scholarship students can stay in public university dormitories without paying any fee.
-Tuition and Fees: Turkey Scholarship students do not pay any tuition or university fee for education.
-Health Expenses: Turkey Scholarship students are covered by public health insurance.
-Turkish Language Course: Turkey Scholarship Students take Turkish language course for one year if they do not have proof of Turkish Language knowledge.
-Transportation: Turkey Scholarship students will get a certain amount of money for their transportation expenses at their first arrival to Turkey and departure after graduation from Turkey.

Mo Ibrahim Foundation MSc scholarship in Governance and State-building - 2013

The International Development Department at the University of Birmingham is pleased to announce an opportunity to undertake the MSc in Governance and State-building, followed by a six-month internship at IDD and six months with the Mo Ibrahim Foundation in London with a full scholarship.


Eligibility
  • 1st class Honours degree or equivalent
  • Adequate capacity in written and spoken English. 
  • Experience in economics and statistics, demonstrated through a good mark received for at least one course at undergraduate level. 
  • Applicants must be African nationals domiciled (or permanent residents) in an African country. 
Application processApplications must be received through the University online application system, accessed via www.birmingham.ac.uk by the 10th June 2013. In addition to the normal University requirements for supporting documents, candidates must also upload a 500 word statement and CV. This statement should set out why the applicant is the best candidate for the scholarship.     Japanese scholarships for Kenyans: Graduate and Undergraduate

    Master’s Scholarships - Public Policy & Governance in Germany

    Target group 
    Very well qualified graduates with a first university degree who in the future want to actively contribute to the social and economic development of their home countries. The scholarships are offered both for young graduates without professional experience and for mid-career professionals.

    What is fundable?
    The scholarships are for Master courses at a German institution of higher education. 


    The courses have an international orientation and are taught in German and/or English. 

    DAAD pays a monthly scholarship rate of currently 750 €. 

    The scholarship also includes contributions to health insurance in Germany. In addition, DAAD grants an appropriate travel allowance as well as a study and research subsidy and in applicable cases rent subsidies and / or family allowances. DAAD-scholarship holders are exempt from tuition fees.

    Requirements
    In addition to the completed undergraduate studies, the main criterion for selection is a convincing description of the subject-related and personal motivation for the study project in Germany and the expected benefit after the return to the home country.
