Georgetown University Full- tuition scholarship - Master in Foreign Service

Starting in fall 2014, the Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) at Georgetown University is offering a full- tuition scholarship for a talented graduate student from sub-Saharan Africa.

MSFS is a two-year, full-time graduate degree program in international affairs. Students will take courses in international relations, international trade, international finance, statistics and analytical tools and history. In addition, students choose an area of concentration such as International Relations and Security, International Development or International Business.

Applicants must have:
  • A completed undergraduate degree from an accredited university with a strong academic record.
  • Applicants should have professional experience, ideally in a field related to their future professional goals.
  • Students have an average of four years of work experience before joining MSFS.
  • Special consideration will be given to applicants from: Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa.

Mo Ibrahim Foundation MSc scholarship in Governance and State-building - 2013

The International Development Department at the University of Birmingham is pleased to announce an opportunity to undertake the MSc in Governance and State-building, followed by a six-month internship at IDD and six months with the Mo Ibrahim Foundation in London with a full scholarship.


Eligibility
  • 1st class Honours degree or equivalent
  • Adequate capacity in written and spoken English. 
  • Experience in economics and statistics, demonstrated through a good mark received for at least one course at undergraduate level. 
  • Applicants must be African nationals domiciled (or permanent residents) in an African country.

    Master’s Scholarships - Public Policy & Governance in Germany

    Target group 
    Very well qualified graduates with a first university degree who in the future want to actively contribute to the social and economic development of their home countries. The scholarships are offered both for young graduates without professional experience and for mid-career professionals.

    What is fundable?
    The scholarships are for Master courses at a German institution of higher education. 


    The courses have an international orientation and are taught in German and/or English. 

    DAAD pays a monthly scholarship rate of currently 750 €. 

    The scholarship also includes contributions to health insurance in Germany. In addition, DAAD grants an appropriate travel allowance as well as a study and research subsidy and in applicable cases rent subsidies and / or family allowances. DAAD-scholarship holders are exempt from tuition fees.

    Requirements
    In addition to the completed undergraduate studies, the main criterion for selection is a convincing description of the subject-related and personal motivation for the study project in Germany and the expected benefit after the return to the home country.

    Stanford MBA Scholarships for Africans (8)

    Africa is at the forefront of significant global economic growth and opportunity. Stanford Graduate School of Business is excited to contribute to the region's human and economic development by educating leaders committed to making an impact on the continent.

    The Stanford Africa MBA Fellowship Program pays for tuition and associated fees (approximately US$140,000) for citizens of African countries with financial need who wish to obtain an MBA at Stanford GSB. 


    Up to eight fellowships will be awarded annually.

    Within two years of graduation from Stanford GSB, Stanford Africa MBA Fellows are required to work in Africa for at least two years in a professional role that contributes to the continent’s development.


    The Stanford Africa MBA Fellowship covers two years of tuition at the Stanford MBA Program, plus all associated fees.

    About the Mandela Rhodes Scholarships

    The Mandela Rhodes Scholarships aim to help in building leadership excellence in Africa.

    A Mandela Rhodes Scholarship is more than a bursary, though the costs of Scholars are generously covered during their period of study. The Scholarship provides funds for tuition, accommodation, meals, a book allowance, and a travel allowance for each Scholar in residence.

    The Mandela Rhodes Foundation offers young Africans who exhibit academic prowess as well as broader leadership potential an educational opportunity unique on the continent. While pursuing their chosen post-graduate degree, each Scholar benefits from access to leadership development programmes.

    Eligibility

    Open to citizens of all African countries.

    For postgraduate study at a recognised South African university or tertiary institution (Honours and Masters degrees).

    Open to individuals holding a recognised first degree, and who would be under the age of 30 at the time of taking up the Scholarship.

    Designed for individuals that reflect in their character a commitment to the principles of education, reconciliation, leadership and entrepreneurship

    Phd Economics Fellowships/Scholarships

    The African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) wishes to announce the 2013/2014 Ph.D. in Economics scholarships for applicants all Sub-Saharan African Countries. The scholarship will be offered in collaboration with the following universities across the Region, with whom AERC has partnerships:

    Requirements:

    To qualify, an applicant must:

    (a) Have applied and been admitted to any one of the listed partner universities;

    (b) Have attained at least a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or equivalent in Economics or related field from an accredited university;

    (c) Have a Masters Degree (with coursework and thesis component) in Economics, Agricultural Economics or related fields from a recognized University. The coursework should have covered 
    microeconomics, macroeconomics and quantitative methods. 

    Interested candidates must submit their applications for admission directly to the respective
    universities (application procedure can be obtained from the respective universities’ websites).     Chinese Government Special Scholarship Program 2013 - Masters and Phd

    Malaysia International Scholarships


    ELIGIBLITY CRITERIA
    To be eligible for Malaysia International Scholarship (MIS), applicants must fit the following criteria:-
    1. Not be more than 40 years of age during application.
    2. Obtained a minimum of Second Class Upper (Honours) or a CGPA of 3.5/4.0 at Bachelor Degree Level for Masters Degree applicants and for PhD candidates must possess CGPA 3.5/4.0 or very good result at Masters degree level in a similar field of intended PhD study.
    3. Took one of the following English Language Proficiency Test not more than two years before the date of application. The list of tests and minimum scores required:
      1. IELTS Academic Test with a score of at least 6.5; or
      2. TOEFL paper-based test with a score of at least 580 or computer-based test with a score of at least 230 or internet-based test with a score at least 92.
    4. In excellent health condition and certified by a Certified Doctor/Medical Professional. The cost of medical examination is to be borne by the applicants.
    5. Has applied for and gained admission to postgraduate and post-doctoral studies in Malaysia (conditional letters of offer will be accepted at the time of application or has a confirmation of acceptance or affiliation with the universities in Malaysia).

    MIT-Zaragoza African Supply Chain Professional Scholarship
