"Wow, WTF!'

Then I caught an idea. This is thought about after remembering those Miller Light commercials with Eddie Griffin, Burt Reynolds, Triple H from the WWE, Jerome Bettis, Carey Hart, Jimmie Johnson, Oscar De La Hoya, Aron Ralston, Brain Binnie, Johnny Holiday (RIP), and others.

A City "Low" for Robbie Pardio

Do you remember I called Claudette Ortiz an underrated artist?

…..Well I will still put her on that list.

Still, it makes me think of the group City High. You know the group that two men and a woman who could sing and rap, and one of them was on Sister Act 2 (…..Sounds likes the Fugees, I know and the irony of this is that they were discovered by Wyclef Jean, who is a member of the Fugees). But anyway, I was wondering what they were up to now. Ryan I think is still trying to figure out how come he still looks like Jason Weaver and still can’t get a gig. Claudette Ortiz was trying to blow her way (no pun intended) to the top but must have hit a speed bump. Well on Monday, January 25 at 8 P.M., we really found out what Robbie Pardio had been up to. I have to admit, at least he is not homeless.

The thing I can say for Robbie is that in entertainment game, Robbie is a sole contributor of what the following lyrics was talking about in the Whispers hit “Olivia.”

Olivia the slave, got distracted on her way to grandmother's house
A wolf in lamb's clothing came
Blew her mind and changed her ways
And now she's turned out
Lost and turned out, lost and turned out

If you could just look at him, he seems like a sad case of a F-minus list celebrity. Did you see how he chugged that body of vodka like water? My Goodness! I got alcohol poison looking at him. I mean, couldn’t he have been in Dr. Drew Celebrity Rehab? Instead, he is on A&E Intervention. I will give him the courage to rather be on Intervention than Dr. Drew Celebrity Rehab. At least he showed me that most of his family wants him to be the person that they believe he can be. Looking at Robbie’s case his father, mother, friends, and girlfriend thought he needed to change and that is saying that his family is great supporter of him. I still think he is a lil salty about the fame that he once had and his relationship with his longtime girlfriend Claudette Ortiz who he was married to almost a little duration longer than R.Kelly/ Aaliyah marriage and was dumped for his City High band-mate Ryan. The best thing said on this series about him was what his mother said about the entertainment world.

“He left the world a boy scout, and they brought them back a drunk.”

This could be a moment that could be on TVOne’s Unsung. Sounds like a Shalamar situation.

……….But being that they will never reunited, this one is a wrap.

What do you think about this situation? Even those City High was disbanded, shouldn’t the former group members been there for each other, or was they were just three people that wanted to just skyrocket in the entertainment world? Your thoughts on that?

A Smoking Ace Repost- When the Saints go "Jiggin' " in the NFL

Around 9:30 PM CST Sunday night, the following things were happening in the South:

Some drunk redneck and a black guy were doing the back bump during happy hour in Mississippi

Some Bama guy and Auburn guy forgot all about the Iron Bowl game and was hi-fiving each other like the Walter Payton-Fridge Hi five in eastern Alabama.

Some guy from the Metarie and some other guy from the 9th ward are second line dancing, doing The Ratchet, and Jiggalating off the song “Jigga Juice” at Bourbon Street

The reason why is because the New Orleans Saints is in the Super Bowl.
Maybe because Greg Williams is mad because he got shafted for the heir apparent to Joe Gibbs for Snyder’s boy Jim Zorn.

Maybe because Drew Brees was shafted by San Diego for Phillip Rivers.

Maybe it is just how the Saints felt shafted after Hurricane Katrina.

Whatever it was, we thank them, because everybody in the Miss-Lou-Ala region are doing the jig over the Saints being still undefeated. I like that they have a high-potent offense and still a stingy defense. I am so getting me a Saints hoodie after years of futility.

Before I go, That Drew Brees’ pregame is just as hype as Ray Lewis. Check it out.

Weekend Jam - Wyclef Jean

I had to look at the Weekend Jam today and think about my man Wyclef Jean, a musical genius in the game. I will put him up there with Stevie Wonder as a beast when it comes to musical talent with the exception of Prince and Stevie Wonder (with whom I had both love in my lifetime). Wyclef had been through some trials and tribulation with his home country and the media being a jack-off about his non-profit organization which I believe is legit. So for the Weekend Jam, It is all about the genius of Wyclef not only just being a member of the greatest band in hip hop era, but as a solo artist. So here is my top five Weekend Jam to Clef.

Maria, Maria- Clef brought out the top five baddest guitarist in the game with Carlos Santana. Believe this guy can rip the guitar like no other.

Nappy Heads- This is the song I love when hip-hop needed a trio to run the show.

Gone Till November – This was the song I just love to here when I was leaving the service. The wild part is that the video came at the same time I was entering the service.

We Trying to Stay Alive- I was in love more with the video than the song, but I heard Clef ripped this one live as well as this song.

How Many Mics (Live at the Apollo)- This is the best live performance ever in my lifetime. You can't hype the Apollo like that. Enough said.

What was you best Wyclef Song? Wyclef has many performances that was seriously off the chain. What is your best Clef perfomrances? For a candlelit dinner for two at the Waffle House, Can you name any Hatiain artists that trasition to the U.S other than Clef?

Piecing the Puzzle of Angela McGlowan's Run for U.S. Represenative

The Field Negro is really going to think this is a nightmare. The person he wanted to debate from three years may make a run ….. For U.S. Representative.

The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports McGlowan said at a Tupelo business luncheon Tuesday that an announcement would come after her contract with Fox expires.

McGlowan, an Oxford native, is a conservative and has spoken at several Tea Party rallies in Mississippi.

If she runs as a Republican, she would compete in a primary with state Sen. Alan Nunnelee of Tupelo, who’s been campaigning for months. Eupora Mayor Henry Ross has also said he might run as a Republican.

Childers, of Boonville, won a special election in mid-2008 after Republican Roger Wicker moved to the U.S. Senate. Childers won a two-year term in November 2008.

I had to really think on this one. It is more like a “part of my mind” situation.

25% of my mind think that this would be a disaster for her just because……yes she is African American female in a seriously dominated White community. No male or female of any ethnicity decent (Black, Hispanic, Middle Eastern, Asian) have ever held a seat a high as this in North Mississippi unless you are from Holly Springs.

25% of my mind thinks this is the smartest move for her. Let’s face the facts. She can’t beat Eleanor Holmes Norton (The Robin to Ms. Fannie Lou Hamer) in DC. ; Mississippi State Sen. Alan Nunnelee makes Boss Hogg Haley Barbour, Pat Buchanan, and Rush Limbaugh look like real nice guys; I am still wondering who is Henry Ross and when Europa became bigger than Oxford, Tupelo, Southaven, or even Batesville for Al's sake; Travis Childers is a Blue Dog Democrat; and American people are more upset at the Obama Administration over things they hear from Fox News issues. She is really playing the Jack of Spades while all these jokers are running the 8, 9, and 10 on the last run.

25% of my mind thinks that she can’t really pull an Al Franken on this one. Though she is an Oxford Native and Ole Miss Grad, her creditability is really shot at being more hometown and DC. She left Oxford and became Miss DC. (Sorry, but the only African American ladies who state pageant that I can respect is my own, Toni Seawright and Kim Morgan, both Miss Mississippi). Many people in North Mississippi believe she is not really homegrown but DC clone (See Clinton LeSuer on this one). Plus she knows that inter-racial marriage is still taboo in Mississippi to Caucasian Americans (See Harold Ford on that one).

25% percent thinks that she could make history as being the first female to ever hold this position. I never got this but Condi Rice and Angela are starting to turn into trend-setters in the Good Ole’ Boy party GOP. It also breaks two age-old questions I have been pondering. Can any African American win a seat in a Caucasian- majority district? Can any African American Republican win anything in Mississippi though Mississippi GOP has severe ties with white hate-groups? (See European-American Unity and Rights Organization, Order of St. Andrew, and as usual the KKK) Well that I am interesting.

I might disagree with things that she said about how African-Americans are “Bamboozled,” but in my feeling, I really want her to run and win. There are so many questions coming about this election and I really believe she can shake things up not for any party, but for the ability to say no matter what party you are in; if you stick to your word, and really look at things in your area, you might get somewhere.

Needless to FYI that if she win, she is a representative in a real wealthy district, and Bennie Thompson who been the only African –American rep in Mississippi since ’96 is the representative of the poorest district in the South. What an oxymoron?

What are your thoughts about this? Should she run? Do you thing she will win? Do you think she has a chance?

McGlowan might jump into Miss. Congressional Race.

Turning In the Playa Card Has Rewards.

This is a man's world, this is a man's world
But it wouldn't be nothing, nothing without a woman or a girl

-James Brown's "It's a Man's World"

I have a routine everyday before work. It goes like this.

The Queen of Hearts calls me.

I do the three S’s (For those who don’t know, it is Sh&*, Shower, and Shave).

I get my food.

I drive and call her to see how her night went.

I am at work.

I love my queen so much, I am going to marry her.

….with that being said.

I know a month ago we were talking about single black women and I know there are many available single black men in the areas (Maybe not in the city, but I know the country has a batch of blue-collar worker. Trust me, I am one.) I did wonder who would it benefit if a brother married a black woman and I found the answer. It doesn’t matter if you are Wall Street or Hill Street, brothers need to know that marriage is where it is at.

If you think women still reap more economic benefit than men do from marriage, you may be living in the past.

Today, men are better off economically because their wives are, too, suggests a new study on the economics of marriage by the Pew Research Center.

It shows women's education and earnings advancements are translating into overall improvement for men.

"Marriage is a different deal than it was 40 years ago," says Pew economist Richard Fry, a co-author of the study. "Typically, most wives did not work, so for economic well-being, marriage penalized guys with more mouths to feed but no extra income. Now most wives work. For guys, the economics of marriage have become much more beneficial."

Pew used Census data from 1970 and 2007 to compare U.S.-born married people ages 30-44 — ages when "typical adults have completed their education, gone to work and gotten married," the study says.

I had to really think on this one. Most guys that I know that are married are very well off. Even though I have queen, I am still considered “single.” I look at this as a win/win situation for any brother who is married. I mean the old saying “Two heads are better than one,” is well in play. So for the single ladies who think brothers are going to be like this…..

After reading this, many guys need to think about the short-term playa cards and trade them in for a long-term prosperity.

In Today's Economics of Marriage. It's a Man World.

SA.

To the brothers, what are your view about being married vs being single? To the ladies, at this time where there are available successful single sistas, how would you view this?

Weekend Jam - Mystikal

I have to dedicate this one to yesterday news. My favorite rapper, The real "Black Prince of Da South", Mystikal, is out and free. It has been 6 years since we heard from the legend of Mystikal. Yeah, 6 years do not seem like much, but things have changed. So to honor the rapper who put the Miss-Lou-Ala on the map and rip the game with lyrics that was masterfully genius, I have a top 5 Mystikal greatest hits and top 5 greats collabos. People beware because the game is getting ready to change.

for the extra- this is his first interview since 2004

Yall Ain't Ready
If you do not know this song and you were from the South, you really did not care for southern rap, or your parents did not want you listening to this music. This was ones of the original budget-videos in the 90s when the east coast had their talent and the west had theirs. With the exception of Luke (who ran FLA), Eightball and MJG (who ran Memphis, Tenn.), Outkast (who held up ATL), UGK, and The Geto Boyz (Who are legends of the rap game in Texas); The Miss-Lou-Ala had nobody that came into the scene spitting rapid 16s like a machine gun. Don't believe me, hear for yourself.

Here I Go
Well what can I say "The Mind of Mystikal" is still the most underrated album of all time. I have more but I can't put it all in here. So "Here I Go" represents this album.

The Man Right Chea
The most-hyped song ever in Southern rap history. Everything on this track was right on time and they did not have a video for it. Everybody in the south from 1997-1999 knew this song.

I'm on Fire
Ghetto Fabulous was a real good album but it was under-measure of the success with all his collabos. "I'm On Fire" was just one of them songs that still under those "Why they did not have a video for this." The symbolism was stylish as he was hitting those 16 bars on this one.

Danger
Don't get me wrong, I like "Shake It Fast." Danger was just one of those song that you could just nod your head to and play in your car because you are taking a trip somewhere.

Bouncing Back (Bumping Me Against the Wall)
The funny thing about this song is that the Neptunes produce this and it really do not sound like a Neptunes beat. The horns were killer on this track. Every HBCU and high school black band was playing this song.

Greatest Collabos

Murder, Murder (Mac)
Just to see these two together with a track again will be masterpiece. As for now, this song will make people reminisce in the South. Funny thing is I can still play this on the piano.

Pure UnCut (Eightball also with Silk, Master P, and Psycho Drama)
He just killed it with "That's that Bastard"

Stutter Remix (Joe)
Come on. Whoever thought he could not don't it on the R&B tip just lied to themselves

Move B*^$% (Ludacris)
His last time on the mic before jailtime. Still a classic.

What is your favorite Mystikal track?
And for a Candlelit dinner for two at the Waffle House, can you tell me what record company
he signed with and what song he was on that spark former group U.N.L.V.
(Cash Money's first group) to make a diss album?

Another Serious WTF Moment: Pat Robertson and Rush Limbaugh

I am not going to lie. I expect this from Rush being a hateful dude, but Pat Robertson. I know I do not agree with him, but I use to respect him for being a man of God. but that turned sour real quick with this.

Man, not rev, but man YOU ARE NOT GOD.

and as for Rush.....

A WTF Moment - Rudy's Got Amnesia!!!

Rudy Giuliani is a serious tool. I can't say that he is mistaken because he is thorn in the side whether Democrat of Moderate Republican. He is what ole' Giuliani said. check the 3:21 mark if you don't really want to hear this tool.

So let me see. There was no domestic attack under President Bush. If I can re-call, George Bush was in office in 2001. Was Sept. 11, 2001 is when terrorist bomb attack on the World Trade Center? Was not Giuliani in office? Did he used that throughout all his speeches and debates? Let me see.
and this

Well I am guessing that only happened in our dreams. This is why politics is BS and I rarely blog about it.

How many Republicans fail will we have before they can turn this around?

Weekend Jam - Underrated Artists of 2000 Decade

Today is the Start of "Weekend Jam." I would put some popular song that is hot right now...

......but I am not that broad. So, today I am going to put out the artists that was seriously underrated in the 2000 decade.

Jaheim

I can say the first time I heard "Could It Be," I thought Teddy Pendergrass change into the lavish lifestyle of our time. When I saw that video, I say he just had perfect timing. In the wake of the thug-sounding-like a R&B singer, this guy was the real deal and you can feel it on most of his songs. I believe his best is when it is a Hip-Hop style, somewhat like Nate Dogg but with lyrics. Have you ever heard "Diamond in the Ruff?" With or without Jadakiss bars, it still laid back for that gangstaz-need-love style.

Bilal

This cat is deep on so many levels and is a straight story-teller. Bilal is multi-dimension, like a King on the chess. Speaking of chess; if he was on the chessboard, he would be like a knight because he can cross you on so many levels. I favorite from him is a duet with Beyonce (which I said it once, is one of her greatest work) from the Fighting Temptaion Soundtrack called "Everything I Do." The chemistry was so right for the both of them. His collab with Talib Kweli in Waiting for the DJ, Soul Sista, Fast Lane, and When Will You Call (my personal favorite) makes him above so many. For some reason, I glad he did not go mainstream. I don't think the world is ready for Bilal.

Claudette Ortiz

If Beyonce did not come out early and displayed that booty, I have a feeling the voices of Claudette and B would have been mistaken. You think she can't hold her own, She did it with City High and really put it down for Wyclef in "Two Wrongs." I believe either she was seriously mismanage, just pull an Anita Baker and chilled with ole Ryan Toby (that dude from Sister Act), or she just let herself go and thought "I can do it again." Whatever she did, They need to put her back on the block.

Mystic

To me, she was the most underrated artist in the 2000 decade. You have to remember we were coming off an emotional and sensual high with "Lauryn Hill" and she disappeared. Here come this caramel complexion lady with a dynamic style that fit both the soul singer of and the female MC. "The Life" was my song and I still have the album "Cuts for Luck and Scars for Freedom." Unfortunately, She was a one and goner. I wonder what in the world the west coast was thinking not trying to advertise her as mainstream. If you heard the album, she could have put the West back on the map with The Game, and this underrated artists as my last.

M.U.R.S

For a real gangsta, who swear like a sailors, you cannot tell from his different style. He reminds me of Andre 3000 without all the singing, and he can go 64 bars and beyond. The reason I like him because he is not about the pro-black, gangster, or doing drugs all day screwing women all night mentality. He speaks on what he sees and that is an artist more than an entertainer.

Those are my underrated artists.

Who are your underrated artists?

Pet Sematary: Mississippi Edition

First off, Let me be the first to express these thoughts right here.

..I am not a fan of PETA because I like meat. I really do.

..I hate any animal that can tear your leg off. It is either it or me; and 9 times out of ten, I am usually the winner.

…and dogs can be one man’s best friend and one man’s worst enemy at the same time. (take notes Kujo).

Will that being said, I have to show you how this Animal Control Officer is just as worse as Mike Vick. At least Vick was not authorized by the county.

A Canton/Madison County animal control officer is accused of shooting more than 100 dogs and dumping their bodies in a creek, city officials said.

The investigation began when Debbie Young found out Esco picked up a dog in her neighborhood in November. Young said she was interested in adopting the dog.

"I called the animal rescue league to see if they would hold him for me, but they informed me that Alonzo Esco had not been there that day, nor had he been there for several months," she said. That's when she contacted the Canton police.

Madison County District Attorney Michael Guest said he received a call about the accusations against Esco Wednesday morning. Officials from the city of Canton told Guest that Esco had been loading dogs in this truck and instead of taking them to the Animal Rescue League, he allegedly shot the dogs and dumped their bodies in a creek.

“Some of those animals may have been killed, or discarded without following the rules and procedures set forth,” Guest said. “In researching the issue, it appears the killing of a dog is a crime, but it's a misdemeanor.”

There are no felony charges for animal cruelty in Mississippi, although animal-rights activists are pushing lawmakers to change the law.

Canton Police Chief Vicky McNeill wouldn't give many details but said Esco's termination involved dead dogs.

“There are no criminal charges that have been filed or anything like that that I'm aware of,” McNeill said. “Our investigation did not call for any form of arrest.”

McNeill said the investigation is continuing.

I found out that Mr. Esco got the job because his kin was the former mayor of Canton, which is in Madison County. You see that is why I will never put my kin folks in office because of mistakes that could end up hurting your status. Vick should have stayed in Mississippi if he wanted to invest in dog-fighting.

A Pad and Pen with The Smoking Ace - New Year's Cleaning

It‘s a new year and all the old stuff is out to wash. These are the times that I look at solutions that were problems in the past. It is time for that winter cleaning season. So I am cleaning all my fall stuff and getting ready for the cold.

Sounds like I am re-arranging furniture, dusting, mopping, doing boards, and taking out old trash.

Well I am, but not my house. What I am talking about are my priorities and the way I see the world.

Let’s talk about my priorities.

Well for starters, I am a go-getter. I read a post from Jam Donaldson’s blog called “Conversate Is Not a Word.” I remembered like it was yesterday when on her post she talked about her cousin procrastinating about going back to school. He made every excuse in the book until she realized that he was not going back to school. Well I did that for a few years, so late in 2009 I said “F@%^ it!” The reason I did that is because I want to start a new chapter in my life. So the queen and I talked, me and parent talked, and I talked to myself (sound loony, but hey to each it’s own) just to come up with the conclusion that I am not getting any older and chances are few and fetch. Mason Jamal, one of many of my favorite bloggers I love to read (…and Mase, I never got to say congrats on you catching that column on AOL Blackvoices) has a quote on his site that says it all.

“Life is too short and full of too many promising possibilities to live unfocused, drink cheap beer, dress like your home doesn’t have mirrors and claim video games as your hobby. It’s time to upgrade. It’s been said “it’s what you learn, after you think you know it all, that counts.” ”

I agree with that statement (…just the video game part. I don’t do it as a hobby, more of therapy.) because we all come in that point of time where recess is over and it is time for class. So I will be doing things now with a sense of purpose personally.

……..and as for the world.

Well we are always going to fall short of forward progress, because we still have hole-asses out there. As a person, I tell my friends that resolutions are not what you not going to do, but what you will do to better yourself. You can tell a person “I am going to quit smoking,” but 9 times out of 10 you will fall in that trap. That is what most Americans need to do.

……..and stop blaming other (which also includes the president) for your mishaps.

The "What a Way To End 2009, Ring in 2010 Year" Moment - Gilbert Arenas

I know my blog-kin folk AverageBro and all the kin-folk DC bloggers are pondering on this and saying "WTF" After all, The Wizs are under-acheiving. Seriously, when you have Flip "Mode" Saunders as your coach, Mike Miller (a great player in Memphis) as a back-up and the big three (Agent 0, Jamison, and Caron) at least 2/3 healthy, you would wonder how come they are not up there with Boston, Cleveland, and Orlando. This might tell you why right here.

Arenas and Javaris Crittenton drew guns on each other during a Christmas Eve gambling dispute, according to a report in the New York Post.

According to the report, Crittenton became angry when Arenas refused to make good on a gambling debt and shouted "I'm not your punk!"

That's when Arenas reportedly pulled a gun from his locker, prompting Crittenton to do the same.

A friend of Crittenton, Kendrick "Bookie Ball" Long, told the Post the third-year player discussed the altercation with him.

"He (Arenas) was (expletive) with him; he (Crittenton) was just defending himself!" said Long, who would only say the the dispute was over money.

Arenas has said he brought unloaded guns from home and stored them in his locker to keep them away from his children.

And this why my man Flip-Mode is upset with his team. Shout-out to Listen to Leon (and the-half Michael Jackson, half Eric LaSalle thing going on).

Flip Saunders is upset.
