The Mighty Congressional Black Caucus – Saying that plans to attack the joblessness situation inblack Americaat its legislative convention next week. The convention is set to be held from September 15 - 18 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The goal of the organization is to have several sessions discussing the link between education and employment. I am really going to agree with most of the white people by saying this.

I know many brothers and sisters really and I mean really hate Clarence Thomas. After all, in the black community, he is known as everything that you do not want your children to be after succeeding. I put it like this. He is the guy that everybody said never stayed true to his principles and sided with others who thought was he should and should not have as African-Americans’ equal rights. Basically, he was the poster boy for After Civil Rights’ Uncle Tom.
….but today is still hard for me to say this “What Justice Thomas said was literally A GOOD POINT.”
He hardly ever speaks during oral arguments, often appearing asleep on the bench. But in his written opinion Monday supporting the right to bear arms, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas roared to life.
Referring to the disarming of blacks during the post-Reconstruction era, Thomas wrote: "It was the 'duty' of white citizen 'patrols to search negro houses and other suspected places for firearms.' If they found any firearms, the patrols were to take the offending slave or free black 'to the nearest justice of the peace' whereupon he would be 'severely punished.' " Never again, Thomas says.
In a scorcher of an opinion that reads like a mix of black history lesson and Black Panther Party manifesto, he goes on to say, "Militias such as the Ku Klux Klan, the Knights of the White Camellia, the White Brotherhood, the Pale Faces and the '76 Association spread terror among blacks. . . . The use of firearms for self-defense was often the only way black citizens could protect themselves from mob violence."
This was no muttering from an Uncle Tom, as many black people have accused him of being. His advocacy for black self-defense is straight from the heart of Malcolm X. He even cites the slave revolts led by Denmark Vesey and Nat Turner -- implying that white America has long wanted to take guns away from black people out of fear that they would seek revenge for centuries of racial oppression.
I can’t believe this came out of his mouth out of all people. I mean, this looks like it will come from people like Rev. Inc. (for those who don’t know that is Rev. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. Shout out to Field Negro for that one.), or some black militant cat who works for the Black Panther Party. No, this came out of C.T. mouth. He has a good point on the 2nd amendment. Instead of calling him an Uncle Tom, we might need to be hearing the poster boy (well former to me, there are new Toms and Jemamas, such as Jesse Lee Peterson, that Manning dude, and Star Parker; who in my case don’t give a s^%* about their own race.) instead of listening to media and people who are going to take our Second Amendment Rights away from us. Think about it. I know that it is hard in the Chi with all these killings and everything, but just think for a second if they took the right to bear arms from ALL- AFRICAN AMERICANS. For the gangster who got the gun, it will be use to lock him up, but for just a normal-working African Americans who want to protect their, it is more of the fear that other militias (or domestic terrorist such as White Nationalists, who are protected by the NRA) can have us living in fear if we succeed or say something out the way, which is seriously inhumane.
I am glad Justice Thomas stood up on this not speaking as for one person, but for a race.

So out of all this Black Republicans may have the person that could represent them (the reason I say that is because most (97%) think that most African Americans “which their skin color resembles” are everything negative). His name is Tim Scott.

People come from all over the world to be trained in our medical schools, to be treated in our hospitals, and to benefit from our pharmaceutical products and medical devices. Let’s not lose what is good about our health care system.
Tim believes in targeted, common sense reforms that will make health care more affordable, reduce the number of uninsured Americans, and increase the quality of care at a price our country can afford. Medical decisions should be made by patients and their providers, not by Washington bureaucrats. Tim will fight to prevent insurance companies from interfering with the physician-patient relationship, eliminate unnecessary hassles and unfair payment practices, and fight for reimbursement decisions that are based on patient care, not on economics.
Verdict: So you think that not every American need some sort of healthcare…Not a good look, Tim
On Protecting Our Borders
Tim will make strict immigration reform a top priority in Congress. He will fight to remove the incentives, like health care and education, which attract illegal immigrants to our state. Tim will also make sure our state law enforcement agencies are given the proper training and tools they need to enforce immigration laws. Tim is committed to strengthening penalties for employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants.
We are a nation of immigrants, but we are also a nation of laws. Tim will work to promote patriotic assimilation by making English the official language of government, and insist that new immigrants learn English.
Verdict: English as the official language is cool, but that Arizona thing you are losing cool points.
The rest is really something that I expect a republican to say.He never said anything about education which is red flag. The reason is that without education, all those issues are useless. the endorsement of Sarah Palin is another red flag (I guess she is post racial afterall.....who am I kidding? This woman will still call Mr. Scott the "n" word if he don't fall in line.) , but he does woo me over with the jobs situation.

I see that the 2010 primaries are in rare form this year. Between both parties, Democrats and Republicans are feeling the sting. I can tell you from these primaries that these are the most heated in years. Here is the rundown of the survival and prediction of this year’s primary.
People REALLY want change – I like Obama as a president, but his cabinet members…..well not so much. He is really doing the same thing and making the same mistake Bush did. This time it is a turn-around from that ole Kanye West, “Bush hate black people thing,” Even though the Oil Spill is as much of BP screw-up as the government, you can really say the same from the Corp. of Engineers. Both disasters were screwed up by lack of responsibility and both administrators were lacking in response and pointing fingers. Sorry, but that is the exact reason why one was mad then and one is mad now.
People are TIRED of the same songs- I know we wanted change in office, but very few did not understand why people wanted change. If you go by the same rules, people will get tired of them, plain and simple.
People DO NOT like just to be talking and the representatives DO NOT give them any action – Some people just do not get it. Just because you have worked in the same office for many terms does not mean you can turn a deaf ear on the people who put you there. Just ask Representatives Rep. Alan Mollohan, Parker Griffith, and Senators Bob Bennett and Arlen Specter (Yeah, Mr. Steroid Guy).

That “Obama Effect” only works on one person, BARACK OBAMA – Davis got upset due to him being conservative with his swaying away from the people who put him into office (see the previous point), and McGlowan lost due to her being naïve (Come on, Seriously, I said I was rooting for her. I also knew her election run was going to be literally all of Oxford and that is it.)
People had been through some really rough patches throughout this decade, ENOUGH SAID- I mean if you were born literally between 1978 and 1990. You really had to deal with very little. Now health care, the economy, people stealing money, serious natural disasters, and finger pointing like we are little kids. I can really said Reagan and Clinton were merely the only two problem-solving presidents that really came into mind during the years I have been in this lifetime unless someone can beg to differ with Reagan. I know for a fact Clinton dealt with some serious issues but the only thing he was known for is getting brains in the office. Everything he did was a serious success.
Obama is really not going to be challenged unless someone is has a serious team – I know The Obama Administration is full of it at times, but seriously, who can run against him in GOP. Haley can’t even take care of his own people, Palin got fraud out by LL, Huckabee likes his TV Show, the GOP don’t respect Jindal, Mitt Romney still looks and acts like a Pixar character, Guiliani still think American is all about 9-11 (Playa, get a new line), and Bob McDonnell placed a joker card on the black people in his own state, yet alone fueling fire in the South.
Some Tea Partiers are good for the goose and other are…well just look at RAND PAUL – Nikki Haley could still has shot but she is definitely no Rand Paul. As for others,

Personally, Bennie Thompson will win anyway because those two cannot connect with people across the Second District. Sometimes, We often wondered "When the POTUS will turn his articulate status in straight gangsta mode?"I even thought at one time that although the President is too cool, someone will screw up so hard and test the President's crown jewels so hard that one day go into a mode where Barack Obama will transform into Pimp C (UGK fanatics will feel me on that one). When it comes to driving, I only listen to possibly two radio stations. One is ESPN the radio, and the other is NPR. I guess since 21, I realized that most of the black radio shows don’t play anything that is new and fresh. Most of the times it is a song, either done by Beyonce, Lil Wayne, Trey Songz, or somebody from the south rapping about a minstrel dance, saying how much they got, or something that is just downright ignorant. I looked at a bill today from Rep. John Conyers (Yeah, that dude whose wife really Eff’ up Detroit) and saw that some people just don’t want to hear and if they want to hear it, they rather let the stations pay for what we hear.
AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) President Roberta Reardon and American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada (AFM) President Thomas Lee joined with members of Congress today to announce a strong push by the union movement to pass legislation that supports the fundamental right of American musical artists to be paid for their work.
The Performance Rights Act, H.R. 848 would close a loophole in copyright law that allows AM and FM stations to duck royalty payments to performing artists. The United States is one of a handful of countries that do not provide fair performance rights on radio. The others include Qatar, Iraq, Iran, North Korea and China.

Big Radio has launched a propaganda campaign against the legislation led by Cathy Hughes, owner of the African American mega-company Radio One, which claims the legislation would hurt African American and small radio stations.
Last year, the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU), the A. Philip Randolph Institute (APRI) and the NAACP endorsed the legislation saying it would not hurt black radio and that musicians, like all workers, deserve to be paid a fair wage.
Radio One is a classic example of corporate greed, Trumka pointed out. In the middle of the recession, Radio One executives fired workers, cut salaries and slashed benefits while setting themselves up with millions of dollars in bonuses.
Personally I don’t have a Radio One or do I care about Clear Channel, so if these guys want to play nonsense on the airwaves, let them have it. It doesn’t matter what you play when you know that you don’t have to give a dime to the person who you play. If this bill past, you will be seeing radio execs catching a selective view of what artist they play.It will have to be super hot for execs to play and last time I checked, I never saw a radio executive say “Gucci Mane is my No. 1 fan.” Well there is always getting in line with doing talk shows, but who wants to hear comedians try to reincarnate Petey Greene, because they can’t. I say let it ride because Black Radio needs to be taught a lesson.

After all the HCR yielding, time limit, and time expiration, the HCR got passed. Time will only tell in what direction will it takes us. Hold up. There was one member of the CBC that did not vote yes on that bill.
On Friday, Black Caucus members took turns lauding its provisions that specifically benefit minority communities, such as adding health centers in low-income neighborhoods, expanding the Office of Minority Health and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, expanding the National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities at the National Institutes of Health, and making more lower-income families eligible for Medicaid. "It is good for America. It is good for black America," said Rep. Danny Davis, D-Ill.
Artur Davis, in an interview off the House floor Friday, didn't dispute the bill contains things he supports that would be good for his district: barring insurance companies from dropping coverage for pre-existing conditions; expanding Medicaid; providing subsidies to low-income people to afford insurance; and helping small businesses provide coverage for their employees.
"But all of these things can be done at half the cost without a 3,000-page, near trillion-dollar overhaul of the system," Davis said. "That's my point of disagreement. Where I stand is in support of a more targeted approach that is less expensive
Now you might be thinking “Why did this guy say no to the bill knowing that African-Americans will stand to gain ground on it.” Or you may just call him the House Negro of the Day like in one of my favorite blogs to read "Field Negro".

Artur may was thinking about his district, which is majority African-American; but being that Alabama is conservative altogether, he step in for the whole state of Alabama. If nobody remembers, he could be the next Governor of Alabama because 1) he is the front-runner and 2) The candidates the Republican have either have dents in their records or no record of representing the state at all. To African-Americans in the United States this may be just a little “Why did you do that,” but to all minorities and democratic leaders in Alabama, this may be the smartest move ever made. They knew that they were going to get 216 long before that. So Artur Davis just set himself up for the major prize, Governor of Alabama.
Let me get this straight off the board here. The Smoking Ace loves the kids especially when they have stories to tell, truthful or not. I am just a sucker for children though I don’t have any. When a kid tells a true story about the things that are going on in his life, I cling to listen to it. Take Marcelas Owens (young man on the left) from Washington. His mother got sick, lost her job, lost her health insurance, and died. Just telling the story in a long version is seriously sad.

You see, this is what really kills me about Republican talk show pundits. They are heartless. They are saying “Since this little kid told his story, we are going to exposed his grandmother.” This kid believes that he can make a difference in each person life by telling his heart-warming story. This is not some sort of "Balloon Boy" incident, this is a child with a life that want to do better. There are certain things I say that is off-limit, ridiculing kids is a definite high priority. When the young kid came and said his speech at CPAC. I did not see one Democratic pundit ridicule him nor his parents. What conservatives think is that this young kids was exposed to say that. What if that child is telling the truth will shame all the humanity of the Republican party to the world. People are already saying that "All the Republicans want is what used to be. Things have change and people also change too." What these people are doing is calling bullying. If that is how you play it, do not get mad Michelle, Rush, and Glen if anybody start talking about you family members and such.
Should children be off-limits when they tell their story about things that concerns issue? If these people said something negative about you or your children and you belief of what you feel is true based on experience, what would you do?
I am a person who likes to fill my head up with knowledge of African-American trail-blazers. This post I had to go towards South Carolina. A state that is really similar to Mississippi in many ways except Darlington, SC (which sponsors NASCAR) and other sporting events. So when I have a chance to hear about a trailblazer in South Carolina, I listen.
With that being said here is a story of Juanita Goggins, the first African-American woman elected to the South Carolina Legislature.
When Juanita Goggins became the first black woman elected to the South Carolina Legislature in 1974, she was hailed as a trailblazer and twice visited the president at the White House.
Three decades later, she froze to death at age 75, a solitary figure living in a rented house four miles from the gleaming Statehouse dome.
Goggins, whose achievements included key legislation on school funding, kindergarten and class size, had become increasingly reclusive. She spent her final years turning down help from neighbors who knew little of her history-making past. Her body was not discovered for more than a week.
Those neighbors, as well as former colleagues and relatives, are now left wondering whether they could have done more to help.
This is sad and underplayed especially in her hometown. When reading the article this reminds me of two situations from different books “A Rose for Emily” by William Faulkner and “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens. Reading this seems like Mrs. Goggins did not want any help from people because of her status. Sort of like Scrooge. She was a fighter in her days but every fighter needs help when the time is passing you by. She was more of her status that “I don’t need help for anybody,” which is a situation that bothered friends, colleagues, and even her own family. I believe that when she got mugged last year also showed her something that many people do not see these days; the world is different after the goals are accomplished. It is very sad to see a woman like that who helped with sickle-cell anemia testing to education with pride and joy to be so secretive toward any illness or ill-will (if possible) about how the new generation of African-Americans are not stepping up in South Carolina. That is something we will never know. It will be only a mystery to us.

I have been hearing this all this week about Michele Obama going to Jackson to promote healthier food choice for children and fighting obesity, out of all place Jackson, MS. Now I do live in Mississippi and think this a nice thing that Michele Obama is doing.
Obama’s tour was the first of two stops at schools where programs to keep children active are held out as examples of fighting obesity.
Obama was in Jackson to promote school health as part of her recently announced Let’s Move! campaign. The campaign in part focuses on a healthy diet and physical activity in schools.
……As much as she fighting for obesity, is the children’s parent going to fight obesity?
I really see some of the parents and stores fighting for it (mainly grocery stores, like your neighborhood Kroger and Wal Mart).That is good. Also, the other part of my mind is saying this…
I can’t see it. I live in a state where I can identify many Preciouses’ than Paula Pattons’. But it never starts with the child. It is the parent. Those elementary schools she is going have store that are ran by Middle-Eastern Americans that usually have Rap Snacks, Golden Flake Sweet Heat and candy up the ying-yang (I am not going to forget about the thick ham sandwiches, not the thin deli ones.) The children are going to see the FLOTUS and get happy, and do the things that she tells us. After one month, back to munching those Rap Snacks and Golden Flake Sweet Heat all over again.
The point is it takes parents to choose how you want to eat. I know that most of my family eats healthy every now and then. It is called miss-a-meal. As for the children, I believe that you can have Souljah Boi do a dance called “Eat Healthy” and promote an apple a day; but if the child say “I am hungry,” at the point of our microwave mindset will have those parents going to the nearest gas station than driving minutes to a nearby grocery store.
But I really do give the FLOTUS thumbs up for promoting it. Children need inspiration like that.

…..but her running will give a wake up call to the CBC who are mostly made up of Congressmen and women in mostly poor areas in the United States of America that Black Americans is not going to take crap from anybody. NOT EVEN OUR OWN.
With that being, here is what the Congressional Black Caucus is doing with our time spent of telling them what we need to try to better our community.
The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation — a charity dedicated to internships, public policy research and healthy living among African Americans —spends more on its special eventsthan it does on scholarships, internships and its health and education programs, according to an analysis by The New York Times. Money is donated to finance the Annual Legislative Conference by corporations and labor unions that often also turn to the members of the black caucus for support on their issues in Congress. But the donations to the foundation are not subject to limits, like contributions to political campaigns are.
Are you serious? I don’t know if they are know that jobs are leaving their district, situations are getting far worse than expected and they are out here with our funding sipping Mai Tai’s and Apple Martini’s, golfing and playing tennis like they are the next Tiger Woods or Venus Williams, and eating lobster and shrimp while we are working 9 to 5 just to really make ends meet (or least try to get them to connect). I guess there are more Dollar Bill Jefferson than Edward Brookes.
The CBC needs to be held accountable for their mishandling of funding also by the citizens they represent.
…..But I hate to be an Uncle Ruckus about this so here it the what the other side of me is saying.

This cycle of black politicians screwing us over will be going on for years to come. Why do you think that most of the CBC has been there for 20 plus years? Because they pitch us a line and we are going to believe because that is all we know. Sometimes, the majority of Black Americans can be single-minded on politics and that is why they stay in office until some major scandal breaks out.”
Like Danny Davis of Illinois and William Clay of Missouri. They are in urban cities that are losing jobs left and right and this is what he does.
Danny K. Davis, Democrat of Illinois. Mr. Davis, who had supported legislation in 2002 to impose tough restrictions on the industry, changed his position after the industry association met with him and offered to make donations in his name. Here is a video of a 2008 ceremony in which equipment was donated to a Chicago job training center named after Mr. Davis. The center has since been re-named.

The most important champion of the rent-to-own industry in the Congressional Black Caucus is Representative William L. Clay Jr., Democrat of Missouri. He sponsored the House version of the bill that is being pushed by the industry, which would protect it from the tougher measures proposed by consumer advocates. Mr. Clay, who also has had industry goods donated to causes in his district, is not shy about praising the industry and its leaders. Here are remarks he made at the 2008 industry convention, in his district in St. Louis, where Mr. Clay was treated like a hero.

Note to self and everybody that is reading. If your congressman is part of the CBC, vote him out and put someone there fresh and new. I know I don’t want them spending my money on lobster while I am out here eating hog maws.
